Bluey again I hear you say…okay, I know but Bluey is back on my radar and for a good reason.

Only recently I wrote an article (you can read it here) on the brilliance of Bluey and it’s depiction of parenthood but I have come across an article which show’s I’m not alone.

Earlier this month Babyology released an article (Bluey: How a cartoon dog became the ultimate guide to being a dad) on why the animation series has leapfrogged PlaySchool and The Wiggles to become the No.1 show in ABC iView history.

If your not in the loop, the show charts the domestic life of the blue-heeler pup who lives with her parents and four-year-old sister, Bingo, in Brisbane. The show is full of valuable lessons for all ages delivered in slapstick.

If your not sure this is your ‘thing’ I recommend you take a moment to grab a tea and read this article, which outlines how parenthood (mainly fatherhood) is shown in children’s tv shows, the importance of play and the honest selflessness of becoming a parent.

A new season of Bluey is starting on ABC Kids April 1st and if the trailers are anything to go by it won’t disappoint. You can watch repeats on ABC Kids or check out ABC iview.
