At Nurture Wellbeing we are doing everything possible to keep our community (and ourselves) healthy and not hit the news as a super-spreader (not the type of publicity we want!). We think it’s better to be safe than sorry and aim not to become complacent.
Everything that students love about infant massage and yoga classes – intimate classes, close-knit communities, emphasis on breath and dedicated attention from teachers – are also what make group classes feel increasingly risky amid the threat of the coronavirus. Respiratory droplets could spread infection during a group exhale in downward dog, or an instructor may inadvertently pass germs from one student to the next as she views correct massage techniques. The fear of health concerns alone can suck the calm out of even the most zen rooms.
So is in-person classes a no-go in a pandemic world? Absolutely not, connection with loved ones through massage and movement (yoga) is needed now more than ever and we are prepared to do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. However, your classes may look and feel different when we recommence classes.
