BABY MASSAGE

Where can I buy massage oil?

If you would like to buy oil, you can purchase directly at one of our baby massage classes or via our Shop

Can dad’s, grandparent’s & carer’s join the class?

Yes, I encourage all family members to join in with learning baby massage techniques.
You are welcome to attend a regular class or Dad’s class to learn new skills & meet other parents.

I’m pregnant can I attend?

Yes! Baby dolls are provided for expectant mums and dad’s to practice and learn the techniques. This can provide extra confidence before baby arrives resulting in less anxiety in parenting for the first time.

Expectant parents are welcome to attend a regular class or expectant parents class to meet other parents to be.

Many book when pregnant, if you have an unplanned c-section or you or your baby experience any medical issues I am of course happy to reschedule your class to a later more suitable date.

When is the best time to massage?

The best time to provide baby massage is just after your baby has woken, called the quiet time.
Further information is provided in class on massage times.

Why should I attend?

Nurture Wellbeing offers proven massage techniques that provide endless benefits to both parent and child such as relaxation, reduced anxiety, stress, bonding, helps wind, constipation, colic, reflux, muscle tone plus so much more.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a towel or blanket to lay over the Yoga Mat provided plus anything your baby requires eg. nappy change mat to change baby’s nappy during class, formula, small toys etc.

If you are attending a class which runs over consecutive weeks please bring your massage oil or cream and any handouts provided in week 1.

What if my baby won’t stop crying?

Babies cry, it’s completely normal and their way of communicating.

Please comfort your baby with a cuddle, nappy change, feed or walk around the room. Whatever they need!

Babies love massage and surprisingly they do stay still! Having said that, if your baby is not in the ‘mood’ you can practice on a baby doll within class.

Can I breastfeed in class?

Yes, Nurture Wellbeing classes, information sessions and demonstrations are breastfeeding friendly.
We live in a culture where breastfeeding is undervalued and where alternative infant foods are widely promoted. It is a Mothers choice if she wishes to breastfeed (or not).

Did you know! In NSW it is illegal to discriminate against mothers who need to breastfeed their child in public. By law they cannot be asked to leave or feed elsewhere.

Is baby massage for older children?

Yes, toddlers love infant massage! While the majority of class attendees children are newborn to 18 months older children can attend. Baby infant massage can be adapted and is suitable for school age children.

No, due to our covid-19 policy we no longer supply yoga mats. You will need to bring a yoga mat with you.

If booking with your Active Kids voucher, a yoga mat will be included in your course cost. Nurture Wellbeing expect to be accepting Active Kids vouchers shortly.

What happens in a typical kids yoga class?

Kids yoga classes are high energy usually following a theme or story.

A common yoga class typically includes:

An introduction, including some physical warm up and breathing exercises
Yoga postures, movements and stretches
Relaxation

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your yoga mat and a bottle of water. If you wish, you can bring a small blanket for relaxation.

Pre-School Yoga Adult Participation

Do I really have to participate? Well no…but you can!

Pre-School yoga is heaps of fun and great exercise. Think of it as a bonding opportunity which will create memories. You will have fun too!

Really not interested? If you don’t wish to participate that’s fine but Pre-School yoga classes for 3-5 year olds does require a parent / carer to be present for the duration of the class. You are welcome to bring a coffee with you to sip while you watch.

I’m not sure my child can do yoga

Our classes are fun and held in a low-pressure environment. We understand all children are different and have different abilities, temperaments and learning speeds. We never pressure a child to perform a pose they are uncomfortable with.

Kids yoga classes encourage children to discover their inner potential in a non-threatening environment and to feel good about themselves, both inside and out.

If your kids (or yourself) don’t look perfect in the poses don’t stress.  Let the yoga poses be fun while your little yogi enjoys moving and learning about their bodies.

Sibling attendance

Siblings are more than welcome to attend!

Children under the age of 3 can be registered to attend a class with their older sibling for free.

We offer a family pass which allows 2 siblings within an age group to attend a class together at a discounted rate. If you have more than 2 children in an class age bracket please get in touch so we can arrange a class booking for you.

Free Trial Class – Is it really free?

Yes this is a free class with no obligation to continue if it’s not right for you.

On completion of your free session you will be emailed a discount code if you wish to enrol in a term class.

Should the session selected be full, priority will be given to existing students and you will be contacted to arrange an alternative session.

Why do I need to enrol an additional adult?

Sometimes an additional parent, grandparent, aunt or friend wishes to join in the fun!

Please do, it’s great to include family and friends. We need to enrol all students to ensure we are acting in your best interests. In addition to this, we have limited numbers allowed due to covid-19 venue restrictions and need to legally have everyone accounted for.
